At the age of 12 I designed my first business card for my dad’s business, using Microsoft Publisher and a whole lot of imagination. From there I started creating websites, designing print materials, and working in events. By 15 I was designing events stands, and helping run events. At 19 I was asked to team lead Band Merchandise and Signings at a big Christian music festival, with over 5000 attendees. At 20 I ran a family weekend retreat, managing every aspect from marketing and ticket sales, to venue liaison, planning the event, booking speakers, and recruiting volunteers. We had over 300 attendees ranging from grandparents to a week old baby. When digital marketing started to become it’s own industry I pivoted into content creation, blogging, SEO, and social media alongside website design.
A few years of freelance content creation led me to a temporary role promoting a region of England to visitors. I wrote newsletters, managed the website, created print material, attended events, and managed all of the digital and social media marketing. It was during this time that I wrote an article for “Stir” magazine, about the location I was promoting. Stir is the magazine sent out with Craft Gin’s subscription box.
